Emliy Carr Festival of the Arts.

"I am proud of our ancestry and our family."   E.Carr, Hundreds and Thousands

Emily Carr found personal and artistic sanctuary in remote First Nations villages along the coast of British Columbia . During a period of more than 40 years she visited, wrote about, drew and painted villagescapes, totem poles, canoes, house fronts and occasionally people. Throughout her life she explored the cathedral of the forest which so inspired her art and writings.

It is important to celebrate Emily for all her accomplishments that challenge so many people to take part in the arts. Every exhibition of her paintings and reading of her books is indeed one way that people world-wide celebrate this incredible woman.

This year, Emily Carr House ( Emily's birthplace ) is proud to present the annual Emily Carr Festival of the Arts.
